Tron founder Justin Sun says AI and quantum computing have made him more bearish on bitcoin than before, while Bitmex co-founder Arthur Hayes says nobody should sell over the quantum threat. Sun made his case in an interview last week, arguing that advances in artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms and quantum computing have made him more bearish on bitcoin than ever before. He argued that the industry and investors holding bitcoin through exchange-traded funds (ETFs) had not fully priced in either risk. His sharpest point was about timing, with Sun suggesting AI progress in mathematics could let ordinary computers break today’s cryptography before a quantum machine ever does.
