Advertising terms
These terms cover every banner booked on BTC Daily Wire. “We” is BTC Daily Wire. “You” is the person or company booking the banner. You accept them when you send the booking form with the box ticked.
1. Packages
| Package | Price | Run | Position | Banner changes | Click report |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $50 | 2 days | Shown in turn | None | At the end |
| Standard | $1,000 | 12 days | Shown in turn | Up to 2 | Halfway and at the end |
| Premier | $5,000 | 45 days | Ahead of the other packages | Once a week | Every week |
- Prices are in US dollars and are for one banner on the home page of this site.
- The home page has one banner position. When more than one banner is running, each visit shows one of them. Premier banners are shown ahead of Starter and Standard banners.
- A day is 24 hours. The run starts when the banner goes live, not when you book.
2. Booking and approval
- The booking form is a request, not a contract. It is emailed to the editors. A booking exists once we have approved your banner and link by email and your payment has been confirmed.
- We check every banner and the page it links to before it runs. We may ask for changes, or refuse any banner, without giving a reason.
- We usually reply within two working days. Start dates are subject to the position being free.
3. Payment
- Payment is in cryptocurrency, in full, before the banner goes live. We send the wallet address, the network and the exact amount by email after approval.
- The amount is the dollar price at the rate on the day we send it. It is valid for 48 hours. After that we may send a new amount.
- You pay the network fees. The amount that arrives must match the amount we asked for.
- Send only on the network named in our email. Coins sent to the wrong address or on the wrong network cannot be recovered, and we are not responsible for them.
- We send payment details only by email, in the same conversation as your booking. If anyone asks you to pay in our name through a chat app or social media, do not pay, and tell us.
4. Your banner
- Size 970 x 250 pixels, in JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF, 300 KB or less. No sound, no flashing, no fake buttons, system warnings or countdown tricks.
- One link per banner. Links are marked as sponsored and open in a new tab. We do not allow links that redirect to a different site from the one we approved.
- Every banner is shown with the label “Advertisement”.
- If your banner arrives late, the run starts when it goes live. If it arrives more than 14 days after payment, we may treat the booking as used.
- You own or have permission to use everything in your banner, including logos, photos and names.
5. What we accept
- Our readers follow Bitcoin closely: holders, miners, developers and people who work in the industry. We accept products and services made for them, such as wallets, mining equipment, node and Lightning services, software, conferences, courses and publications.
- Any business that needs a licence where its banner is shown, such as an exchange, a broker, a lender or a betting company, must hold that licence and give us the number and the regulator when asked.
- A banner may not suggest that BTC Daily Wire endorses the offer. It may not pass itself off as coming from the Bitcoin Core project, or from any project or company it does not belong to.
6. What we refuse
We do not accept ads for:
- Token presales or ICOs.
- Unlicensed casinos or betting.
- Anything that promises guaranteed or fixed returns. That includes signals groups, trading bots and “doubling” offers, and any “guaranteed”, “risk free” or “get rich” claim.
- Cloud-mining contracts.
- Airdrop or “claim” pages.
- Coin-recovery services.
- Malware, phishing, fake giveaways, unregistered securities, adult content, or anything unlawful where it is shown.
We may refuse or take down any banner, including one that is not on this list.
7. Refunds and changes
- If we refuse your banner before it goes live, you owe nothing. Anything you have already paid is returned to the wallet it came from, less network fees.
- You may cancel before the banner goes live and receive the same refund.
- Once a banner is live, the fee is not refunded, including if you ask us to take it down early.
- If the site is unavailable for more than 24 hours in a row during your run, we add the lost time to the end of your run. That is the only remedy for downtime.
- We may take a banner down at once if it or the page it links to breaks these terms or the law, if a licence lapses, or if the linked page changes to something we did not approve. No refund is due in that case.
8. What we promise, and what we do not
- We promise the position and the number of days in your package.
- We do not promise any number of views, clicks, sign-ups, deposits or sales.
- Click counts are taken from our own records and are given for information.
- Advertising buys a banner. It does not buy news coverage. Advertisers do not see or influence what we report, including what we report about them.
9. Responsibility
- You are responsible for your banner, your offer and the page it links to, and for making sure they are lawful wherever the banner is seen.
- If a regulator, court or third party makes a claim against us because of your banner or offer, you will cover our reasonable costs.
- Our total liability for any booking is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for lost profit or other indirect loss.
10. General
- We use the details in your booking only to handle it, as described in our privacy policy.
- We may update these terms. The version on this page on the day your payment is confirmed applies to your booking.
- Questions about a booking go to the editors through the contact page.
