Wallets associated with the US government transferred approximately 17,733 BTC to Coinbase Prime. Analysts at K33 Research believe most of these transactions are likely related to asset custody rather than sales. Of the total, 12,267 BTC are linked to the Bitfinex hack case and are undergoing claims review. Coinbase Prime has served as a custodian for the US Marshals Service since 2024. Meanwhile, around 1,200 BTC connected to the FTX and HashFlare cases may be sold to pay compensations.
