The Delaware startup's new heating element slots into existing electric tanks and hashes SHA-256 while your shower water warms up Your water heater spends its whole life turning electricity into heat. Heatbit thinks it should also be earning Bitcoin while it does that. The Delaware-based company has launched Bitwater, a residential heating element that warms water and mines Bitcoin at the same time. It is built to fit into the electric water tanks people already own. Preorders opened on October 22, 2026, and first shipments are expected in the first quarter of 2027. Bitwater swaps in as the heating element inside an existing electric water tank. Instead of a plain resistive coil, the element runs SHA-256 hashing, the cryptographic puzzle-solving that secures the Bitcoin network.
