Four years ago, Warren Buffett said he wouldn’t pay $25 for all the Bitcoin in the world. Today, that Bitcoin is worth roughly 68 billion times that amount. At Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meeting in Omaha on April 30, 2022, a shareholder asked whether Buffett and his longtime partner Charlie Munger had softened their views on Bitcoin. Buffett said assets should produce something. Farmland grows crops, apartments earn rent and businesses make profits. Bitcoin, he argued, produces none of those. Buffett’s $25 jab “ If you told me you owned all of the Bitcoin in the world and you offered it to me for $25, I wouldn’t take it ,” Buffett said, drawing laughter from the crowd.
