Deutsche Bank plans to extend its cryptocurrency custody service to Asian financial centers in 2027 after launching the platform in Germany. Germany’s largest lender expects to begin serving clients within weeks, starting with Bitcoin and Ethereum custody. The bank also plans stablecoin services, tokenized deposits, and blockchain-based securities. Corporate banking co-head Gerald Podobnik outlined the timetable on October 16 during meetings in Bangkok. Deutsche Bank will initially provide custody for major cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). Institutional and corporate customers will hold digital assets through the bank. The bank outlined its custody plans in September, when it said first clients could join during 2026, subject to regulatory requirements. The Bitcoin news lists BTC, Ether and selected stablecoins among supported assets.
